Double Chocolate Chunk Tahini Brownies

These double chocolate chunk tahini brownies are naturally sweetened, fudgy, and sooo delicious! This decadent dessert is made with tahini and peanut butter for a healthy source of fats, resulting in a moist and dense consistency that is simply irresistible!

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1 large egg substitute flax egg
  • 1 ripe banana mashed
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cacao powder
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chunks more for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line an 8x8 inch square baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In one large bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, tahini, egg, mashed banana, apple sauce, vanilla extract, and maple syrup until well incorporated.
  • To the same bowl, add in in the cacao powder, coconut flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing with a spoon until just combined.
  • Add in the chocolate chunks and fold it into the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth it out with a spatula to spread the batter evenly. Sprinkle additional chocolate chunks on top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool for 20 minutes.
  • Take the brownies on the parchment paper out of the pan, pull the sides of the parchment paper away from the brownies and cut them into 9 even squares.
