Double Chocolate Chunk Tahini Brownies

These double chocolate chunk tahini brownies are naturally sweetened, fudgy, and sooo delicious! This decadent dessert is made with tahini and peanut butter for a healthy source of fats, resulting in a moist and dense consistency that is simply irresistible!

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1 large egg substitute flax egg
  • 1 ripe banana mashed
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cacao powder
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chunks more for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line an 8x8 inch square baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In one large bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, tahini, egg, mashed banana, apple sauce, vanilla extract, and maple syrup until well incorporated.
  3. To the same bowl, add in in the cacao powder, coconut flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing with a spoon until just combined.
  4. Add in the chocolate chunks and fold it into the batter.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth it out with a spatula to spread the batter evenly. Sprinkle additional chocolate chunks on top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool for 20 minutes.
  7. Take the brownies on the parchment paper out of the pan, pull the sides of the parchment paper away from the brownies and cut them into 9 even squares.
